Solved: Errors on Import Timesheets from T&E after 2026.2 Update

Laptop on a desk shows a blue Windows update screen: Working on updates 27%, with a loading icon and restart warning.

If you recently upgraded to Costpoint 2026.2 and your regular Time & Expense (T&E) timesheet imports suddenly started generating pages of formatting errors, you haven’t broken your system.

Cause:

The issue comes down to a backend database expansion: the Pay Type code field has been lengthened to 15 characters. Because fixed-length formats—like the standard .ETS file generated during a T&E export—rely on exact character counts per column, this extra padding throws off the alignment for the entire file layout. When you run the LDPUPET routine to pull those hours into Costpoint, the system can no longer read the columns correctly.

Resolution:

The resolution requires updating your export rules to accommodate the new layout, resetting the status of the stuck timesheets, and generating a clean export file.

  1. Go into Time > Time Controls > Times Settings

  2. Ensure that Export In-Process Timesheets option is set to All Charges

  3. Ensure also that ASCII Layout is set to Costpoint 8.x or greater

  4. Run Rebuild Global Settings

  5. Log out and log back into the system.

  6. Use the Change Timesheet Status utility to revert the affected timesheets back to Approved status:

    1. Action: select Un-mark Processed Timesheets

    2. Timesheet Period: Please select timesheet period

    3. Batch ID: Enter the batch ID for the timesheets that need to be unmarked

  7. Re-run Export Timesheets in Time & Expense to produce a correctly-formatted ETS file.

    • If possible, assign a different batch ID for the new export

  8. Re-run LDPUPET (Import Timesheets from T&E) in Costpoint selecting the file created in step 7.

The data will now align properly with the upgraded 2026.2 table structures and clear without errors.
